What we Offer

Framing and Loft Floors | Steel Structures America

Standard wall girts are most commonly used in the typical post frame application. The girts are 2x6 spaced 24” on center and nailed to the outside of the post. Screws then fasten the wall steel to the girt framing. If heavy insulation and drywall is required commercial girts or vertical studs must be used.

Framing and Loft Floors | Steel Structures America

Commercial wall girts are used when heavy insulation and or drywall is needed. The wall girts are laid flat with 2x6 horizontal framing spaced 24” on center between the posts creating a cavity for R-19 batt insulation. Drywall can then be attached to the inside of the girt framing.

A vertical stud wall can be used in conjunction with or in lieu of standard wall girts to support other horizontal siding options. The vertical stud wall is similar to stick frame construction. 2x6 or 2x4 studs are placed vertical 24” or 16”on center between the posts. This creates a cavity for R-19 insulation and provides the necessary area on the stud to fasten drywall....

A framed ceiling is used in a heated building where efficiency is important. Normally, heating the attic area above the bottom of the trusses results in wasted energy. Ceiling joists are 2x6 joists spaced 24” on center installed between the bottom chords of the trusses. A sheathing, typically drywall, is attached to the ceiling joist creating a surface for blow in...

Gable Buildings | Steel Structures America

A bottom loaded truss is designed to support added weight hanging from the bottom cord of the truss. Most trusses in this category are built to support insulation and drywall for a finished ceiling. Attic type trusses can be designed to support additional storage. A pick point is an area located on the bottom cord of the truss engineered to carry the weight of an engine block,...

Wood Roof Decking | Steel Structures America

Wood roof decking typically consists of either 7/16 OSB or ½” plywood and is applied over the top of the trusses and roof purlins to create a solid wood deck. This option is needed if composition roofing is used. It also strengthens the roof system to meet additional engineering requirements when needed.

Gable Buildings | Steel Structures America

Wood wall sheathing consists of 7/16 OSB board applied to wall girts or vertical stud walls. This option is needed when steel is not used and an alternative siding option is being applied. Wall wood sheathing makes for a much more ridged structure.

Loft Floor | Steel Structures America

A loft is a wood floor designed to be used as a second story or room typically used for storage or other specific purposes. The loft floor is usually only a portion of the main level leaving one or more sides open to the lower level. In barns, a loft floor is used to store hay. In a garage or shop the loft would be used to store miscellaneous items.

Interior Walls | Steel Structures America

An Interior wall is simply a partition wall used over the top of a concrete floor with framing materials similar to stud framing. Post-frame buildings are engineered to be clear-span, so interior walls can be located anywhere because load-bearing is not required.
