A framed ceiling is used in a heated building where efficiency is important. Normally, heating the attic area above the bottom of the trusses results in wasted energy. Ceiling joists are 2×6 joists spaced 24” on center installed between the bottom chords of the trusses. A sheathing, typically drywall, is attached to the ceiling joist creating a surface for blow-in insulation. The finished ceiling will give the room or building a completed appearance and promote energy efficiency.
